Saint Charalambos was a bishop in Magnesia, Asia Minor, who courageously preached the Gospel during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus. Despite his advanced age, he remained unwavering in his faith when persecuted for being a Christian. Enduring severe torture with remarkable courage, St. Charalambos continued to proclaim Christ, inspiring many—including some of his persecutors—to embrace Christianity. He was ultimately martyred for his faith and is venerated in the Orthodox Church as a powerful intercessor, especially during times of illness and plague.
