St. Peter the Apostle
Her/His Story
Saint Peter the Apostle, originally named Simon, was one of the first disciples called by Jesus Christ and became a leading figure of the early Church. Known for his bold faith and very human weaknesses, Peter denied Christ during the Passion but later repented deeply and was restored through Christ’s love. He preached the Gospel fearlessly after Pentecost, performed miracles through God’s grace, and helped establish the Church. St. Peter ultimately gave his life as a martyr in Rome, crucified upside down out of humility, becoming a powerful symbol of repentance, leadership, and steadfast faith.
