St. Constantine the Great (Equal-to-the-Apostles)
Her/His Story
Saint Constantine the Great was a Roman Emperor who played a pivotal role in the history of Christianity. After witnessing the sign of the Cross before battle and hearing the words “By this sign, conquer,” he embraced Christianity and issued the Edict of Milan, granting freedom of worship to Christians throughout the empire. Alongside his mother, St. Helen, he supported the Church, convened the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea, and helped establish Christianity as a foundation of the Christian world. He is honored in the Orthodox Church as Equal-to-the-Apostles for his profound contribution to the faith.
